Modifications of Court Orders

Georgia Child Support Modification Lawyer

At the time of separation and again when the divorce decree is issued, the Court will issue orders for child support, child custody, visitation, and alimony. The Court bases these orders on the facts as they are presented to them at the time of the hearing. If conditions change, you can go back to court to obtain a modification of the order.

The Siemon Law Firm has experienced family law attorneys serving Atlanta and its northern suburbs. We have obtained modifications of court orders for many clients, and may be able to help you.

We obtain modifications in:

  • Child support
  • Child custody
  • Visitation rights
  • Alimony

Call 770-521-4316 or send us an e-mail to arrange for a consultation.

Obtaining a Child Support Modification

The most common type of modification is the child support modification order. When a significant change in income or parenting time occurs, it may be possible to get a modification in child support. An increase in salary, a job layoff, or a temporary disability may be sufficient to obtain a modification.

The Siemon Law Firm can seek to obtain a modification of the child support order on behalf of either the receiving parent or the paying parent. We will work to obtain these in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Obtaining a Child Custody or Visitation Modification

A court order for modification of visitation can be routine or become highly contentious depending on circumstances. If a parent's work schedule has changed for example, we may be able to negotiate with the other parent to obtain a change in the visitation schedule.

A change in visitation or child custody may require significantly more time and effort if it is contested by the other parent. In such a case you will need an aggressive and hardworking attorney on your side. A lawyer at our firm will be happy to discuss your situation and explain your legal options.
